The School of Kinesiology at Ball State University invites applications for a non-tenure-line faculty position of Assistant Lecturer of Kinesiology, with emphasis in the University’s required Core Curriculum Physical Fitness and Wellness class. This full-time non-tenure-line position is available August 16, 2024, for the academic year with possible summer teaching. Responsibilities include teaching in the Physical Fitness and Wellness Program - primarily Group Fitness and Physical Conditioning activity courses, and providing university and professional service. Additional teaching opportunities may be available depending on the candidate’s interests and qualifications. This position reports to the Chair of the School of Kinesiology.

Minimum Experience:

  • Earned master’s degree in wellness, kinesiology, exercise science, physical or health education, or closely related field from an accredited college or university by date of appointment.

  • Two years of group fitness teaching experience.

Preferred Experience:

  • At least five years of group fitness teaching experience and/or notable reputation, especially at a national level.
  • Ability to teach a variety of physical activity courses.
  • Group fitness and/or activity course teaching experience at a collegiate level.
