Provide administrative support for the Nursing Simulation and Information Technology Center (NSITC) and serve as the chief community representative for the NSITC’s outreach services. This includes: outreach efforts in the community; instructional services support, assistance with student learning activities, operational support for NSITC, and serving as an internal and external liaison for NSITC.

The School of Nursing invites applications for a Nursing Simulation Operations Coordinator.

Job Function:

Provide administrative support for the Nursing Simulation and Information Technology Center (NSITC) and serve as the chief community representative for the NSITC’s outreach services. This includes: outreach efforts in the community; instructional services support, assistance with student learning activities, operational support for NSITC, and serving as an internal and external liaison for NSITC.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Preferred Education:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a field related to education, communication, performing arts, or business management.

Minimum Experience:

At least one year of related experience.

Preferred Experience:

Experience working in simulation with or as a standardized patient actor, or have a simulation-based learning experience. Experience working with simulation technology and technology-based learning.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, maintain, schedule and coordinate administration of community/collaborative partnerships for the Nursing Simulation and Information Technology Center (NSITC). Coordinate information with the Director of Nursing SITC and lab personnel for management and expansion.
  • Recruit and evaluate simulated patients (volunteers/standardized patients) for the simulation center. Collaborate in the development of training materials with faculty and staff and assist in the development with the Director and/or faculty
  • Coordinate with faculty and staff to develop schedules for simulated patient learning encounters.
  • Administer/implement SP simulations, including: scheduling rooms, coordinating SPs and students, managing encounter recordings and timing, and rotating students through SP activities.
  • Assist with pre-event preparations, including: recording set-up, room set-up, distributing supplies, and providing pre-event instructions.
  • Monitor, coordinate, maintain and facilitate Nursing Simulation and IT Center (NSITC) which includes activities such as ordering materials and serving as a liaison with University Libraries.
  • Collaborate with the Nursing Contracts and Budgets Coordinator and the Director of the NSITC to manage NSITC finances. Work with the Director of Nursing SITC in the analysis of budgetary needs (student employee utilization, resource supplies, etc.) and coordinate data for cost-projection and equipment replacement planning.
  • Coordinate the inventory-control and purchasing activities for the NSITC. Communicate with vendors regarding hardware, clinical supplies, warranties, and equipment replacement planning.
  • Manage posting, interviewing, and selection of student employees and Graduate Assistants. Assigns and evaluates the work of student employees and GAs in the NSITC.
  • Compile information for annual reports, accreditation reports, and other reports as necessary for NSITC functions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Ensure best practices and participate in quality improvement processes for SP simulation.
