Job Description

Summary

The Department of Urology is currently seeking an Assistant Professor Tenure Track.

Focusing on several areas of academic activity, including the initiation of a robust research program, and securing external grant funding, pursuing educational contributions such as training and mentoring medical students, residents and fellows, and participation in departmental and BCM programs and committees.   Active participation in national and international academic scientific organizations and programs will be expected.  Play an active leadership role in overseeing the functions of the Clinical Laboratories of the Department of Urology.

Being responsible for providing clinical care at departmental clinical practice sites, and at the affiliated hospitals of Baylor College of Medicine, maintaining an efficient and productive clinical practice, holding, and maintaining permanent, valid, and unrestricted licenses to provide patient care in the State of Texas, and complying with BaylorMedCare credentialing criteria.

Developing a productive, high-quality practice within the Baylor Medicine Faculty Group Practice, focusing on the subspecialty area as noted above, and involving General Urology activity to support the needs of the Department, the hospital clinical services, and the educational programs of the Department and the College.

Obtaining hospital credentialing at the primary Baylor College of Medicine teaching hospitals, including Baylor-St. Luke's Medical Center, the MEDVAMC, Ben Taub Hospital, and TCH.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completed a U.S. Urology Residency Program and Fellowship programs/advanced training in male reproductive medicine and surgery. Residency to be accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.
  • Must have a license to practice medicine in the State of Texas.
  • Advanced scientific training and credentials, preferably a PhD in a relevant area of scientific work, is strongly preferred.
  • Must be Board Certified/eligible by the American Board of Urology.
