Job Description

The laboratory of Dr. Dmitry Kurouski at the Texas A&M University, Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics seeks to hire a Postdoctoral Fellow. The focal point of the research project is to determine the role of lipids in neurodegeneration. Specifically, we aim to determine how lipids alter (i) rates of protein aggregation, as well as (ii) the structure and toxicity of amyloid oligomers are fibrils. We also want to understand how amyloid oligomers and fibrils exert their toxicity in cells.

The ideal candidate should have a strong biochemistry or biophysics background with an experience in eukaryotic cell cultures, flow cytometry and cell toxicity assays, such as ROS and MTT. We also expect the successful candidate to have an experience in protein expression and protein purification.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will work in a multicultural group. The candidate will lead the project, perform experiments, and write papers. The candidate will also have an opportunity to collaborate with other research groups at Texas A&M University.
We are located in the main campus of Texas A&M University (College Station, TX), 2-2.5 hours away from Houston, Dallas and Austin.
