Job Description
Summary
Full time research nurse interested in establishing or continuing a career in clinical research. Our clinical trials focus on treatments and or vaccines for combating infectious diseases. Our current focus is on COVID-19 trials.
The ideal candidate will have excellent phlebotomy skills, able to perform vaccinations on children and adults, has good organizational skills and excellent attention to details.
Job Duties
- Performs responsibilities in a manner that promotes quality and safe participant care and customer service.
- Adheres to the scope of practices as defined by Texas Nurse Practice Act.
- Recruits, screens, enrolls, and evaluates study participants for COVID and other focused research trials.
- Collects study specimens and checks participant vital signs
- Administers COVID and other vaccines/treatments for research trials.
- Follows participant progress and advises investigators on status.
- Collects study-related data and enters the data into an online database.
- Maintains research charts and medical records, as applicable.
- Performs quality assurance activities, as needed.
- Collaborate with Clinical Research Associates for monitoring of study-related activities.
- Ensures that the clinical studies are conducted in accordance with FDA guidelines and other established regulations, guidelines, and procedures and protocol requirements.
- Educates study participants in significant aspects of the COVID-19 and other trials.
- Maintains research clinic cleanliness and re-stocks supplies.
- Extrapolates applicable medical data from EPIC, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- No experience required.
- Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the State of Texas Board of Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
