Job Description

We invite you to apply for this job with the Creatives Services team within our Communications and Public Affairs Division.  In this role, you will perform a variety of electronic pre-press and wide-format digital printing related functions within the on-site creative services print shop.

You will be responsible for all electronic file intake/preparation and troubleshooting production issues. You will be required to follow instructions from supervisors, complete project tracking/documentations, maintain inventory, provide printing estimates, communicate effectively with team members, and provide a high service touch to customer base. 

You will be working from detailed specifications, producing unique and complex printed materials with multicolor application and other attributes that require precise alignment and quality control.

If selected, we expect you to demonstrate:

  • Customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients on status, progress, and expectations on delivery.
  • Sound decision making such as exercising a high degree of judgement, solving problems independently, and seeking assistance when necessary.
  • Attention to detail with organization and planning skills to develop, prioritize, and implement production work schedules for processing requests along with database entries for assigned projects
  • Experience recommending and implementing continuous improvements to create efficiencies
  • Stewardship of the print shop’s material resources

Position Requirements

  • Knowledge of print shop operations including the relationship between graphic artwork, digital printing, and computer-generated printing products
  • Experience with print-ready file preparation and electronic prepress procedures for large format, digital printing, and a variety of specialty production
  • Knowledge of estimating print job costs and maintaining required materials and supplies
  • Experience with safety requirements to operate print shop equipment such as presses, binding, and finishing
  • Experience operating multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously such as digital press, large format press, and bindery equipment
  • Exceptional attention to detail with organization and planning skills to develop, prioritize, and implement production work schedules for processing requests along with database entries for assigned projects
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and Prisma Prepare software
  • Experience in troubleshooting and performing operator maintenance on printers and other related production equipment
