Job Description
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director, Volunteer and Retail Services, the Supervisor, Retail Services is responsible for the day to day operations of Magnolia's Salon and the Mastectomy Boutique. The Supervisor will supervise retail & clinical staff including Salon stylists, Mastectomy Fitters and Volunteers. The Retail Supervisor is responsible for fiscal management, regulatory compliance, inventory, space planning and design, staff supervision and training. This position will be instrumental in establishing the clinical infrastructure for CMS and managed care billing.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts personal consultation for all clients prior to performing services.
- Provides in-patient head shaving services.
- Provides specialty alterations to wigs/hair prostheses when necessary.
- Assists with preparation of revenue and expenses as indicated on proposed budget.
- Works closely with Accounts Payable to assure that all invoices are correct and submitted on a timely basis.
- Works with PR & Marketing to develop and design all promotional activities/displays.
- Responsible for all merchandise displays in and outside of the boutique and salon and overall appearance of both locations.
- Trains all volunteers and maintains a good working relationship with them.
- Maintains current knowledge and keep up with trends in the breast prosthesis, compression garments and wigs for cancer patients.
- Maintain the Salon in compliance with the Department of Business and Professional Regulation requirements for annual inspections.
- Maintain the Boutique in compliance with Medicare standards.
- Maintain current CMF certification including biannual CEU credits as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Certified Mastectomy Fitter Certification within 6 months of hire.
- Board of Certification/Accrediation (BOCUSA) or American Board for Certification (ABCOP)
- 3 - 5 years of experience with breast and cranial prothesis fitting.
- 3 - 5 years supervisory experience in a healthcare facility, Mastectomy boutique or salon
- Knowledge of Medicare DME supplier standards.
- Demonstrates an understanding of Durable Medical Equipment.
- Experience working with wigs and other types of hair prostheses.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office and point-of-sale and inventory systems.
- Knowledge of styling, product selection and merchandising to appeal to diverse populations.
Preferred Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management
- Familiarity with medical billing and terminology.
