What You Will Achieve

Your extensive experience in guiding strategic organizational objectives will provide Pfizer the leadership required in business development and strategic planning. You will manage the activities related to developing long-range objectives and strategic plans for the organization or any major division by identifying strategic issues that could affect growth, productivity and profitability. You will guide Pfizer by checking the environment for business opportunities and performing financial analysis of acquisition candidates. You will prepare acquisition proposals, recommend financial and nonfinancial strategic objectives and alternatives, and implement strategic and operational plans. Planning and coordinating business reviews, resource allocations and organization structures will also be part of your role at Pfizer.

Your foresight and judgment in initiating and guiding complex negotiations will be critical in achievement of your division and business unit’s goals. Your advisory on technical and policy issues will be sought by colleagues and you will be considered an internal and external subject-matter expert for strategic initiatives. As an advisor and an expert, you will be able to build constructive relationships across the organization. You will be entrusted with developing Pfizer’s strategies for a portfolio of products and projects.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Develop innovative or original ideas and leads division projects.
  • Develop mid-term plans that impact the achievement of division results.
  • Oversee execution of key strategic opportunities, including partnering with regions/business segments on strategy generation and implementation.
  • Work independently and develop as well as implement innovative analytical models to support strategic initiatives.
  • Manage active projects, continuously drive quality and creativity with all our internal and externals partners.

Basic Qualifications

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Required: 10+ years of demonstrated work experience in management consulting, healthcare consulting, investment banking, and/or an in-house pharma business/corporate development function
  • Strong matrix management, collaboration, interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work with and present to senior management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional tasks.
  • In-depth understanding of Pharma Research and Development strategy, processes and operations, with proven track record of successful strategy development and implementation.
  • Strategic outlook and the ability to distil complex situations/opportunities into concise communications, analytical and financial frameworks to conduct analysis, creative out-of-the-box thinking with strong intellectual curiosity.
  • Fluent in English.

Nice-to-Have

  • Master's degree
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning, Data Warehouse and Reporting Systems
  • Familiarity with healthcare/pharmaceutical transactions including M&A, product licensing

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $149,200.00 to $248,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
