What Your Job Will Be Like: Our department provides Enterprise IT Platforms and Solutions via automation, infrastructure as code, and modern IT approaches. We are developing new architectures and workflows to improve service delivery for container orchestration, and we are using tools for virtualization and automation such as OpenShift, Ansible, and Terraform. The selected candidate will be an integral part of designing, developing, and integrating these new solutions and improving existing solutions with a focus on DevSecOps methodologies. On any given day, you may be called upon to: + Develop and deploy improvements to Sandia’s container services + Partner with teams eager to adopt container workflows + Discover cross-teaming opportunities and projects throughout Sandia + Mentor, coach, and train team members on supporting technologies + Be a technical resource for Enterprise IT Infrastructure Service organizations + Improve and expand existing services with automation and scalability as a primary focus + Assist the team in troubleshooting existing services + Develop close working relationships with team members and other customer groups The selected applicant can work a combination of onsite and offsite work. The selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary. Qualifications We Require: + Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Science, Software Engineering or a related field plus five (5) years’ experience; or equivalent (AS + 9 years or no degree + 13 years) + Software Development and IT experience: + Experience with one or more modern language such as Java, Python, Golang, Rust + Experience with Container technologies such as Docker and/or Podman + Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Git runner or Jenkins + Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance Qualifications We Desire: + Experience with: + Rest APIs + GIT version control strategies for application development + Linux Operating Systems such as Red Hat + Configuration management tools such as Ansible and/or Puppet + Container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and/or OpenShift + Virtualization platforms such as VMWare + Application database integration with MySQL or PostgreSQL + Tools and platforms like Vault, Consul and Terraform + Strong understanding of infrastructure and application security + Strong analytical and organizational skills + Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills + Demonstrated experience in effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a constantly changing environment + Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships both internal and external About Our Team: The Enterprise IT Platforms & Solutions organization provides modern platforms for Sandia Enterprise IT: container orchestration, virtualization, Linux configuration and patch management, infrastructure as code, and Linux and Windows server systems. We design and operate technologies and processes to ensure IT systems are reliable, consistent, and secure throughout the lifecycle of the system.
