While women today are making their mark in professions such as medicine,
law, business, and politics, they are still underrepresented in science / STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
At Women in Science (WIS), our goal is to build a supportive community for women in science / STEM fields.
Our mission is to promote recruitment and retention of women in science, and to enlist
companies and institutions for a broad coalition of educators and employers to help bring down
the barriers and empower women in their chosen fields. We also aim to inspire, encourage, and
support young girls who aspire to pursue careers in science / STEM.
The world needs science, and science needs women.
We help employers find highly qualified women candidates in STEM and improve diversity and inclusion in their workplace. We assist women in STEM fields find positions that are right for them. Our online platform makes it easy for employers and job seekers to find a good match.
Women in Science provides a professional networking platform for women in science to connect, share information and knowledge, and encourage each other to grow and succeed. All users and organizations can create or join groups and engage discussions in forums.
We periodically publish news and updates involving research by women scientists as well as articles addressing issues and challenges faced by women in science fields. We encourage members in the scientific community to write to us and share their personal and professional insights and experience to encourage and inspire women in science community.
Our curated resources provide helpful information to women in the scientific community, and help young girls interested in STEM majors find scholarships and more. We plan to use a portion of our revenue to establish scholarships for women in science.
