The Space Control Capabilities team is a group of computer scientists and cybersecurity professionals working on a variety of emerging technical challenges in the national security space arena. Qualifications We Require: + Bachelor’s degree in a relevant STEM discipline. + Eight years of experience in space systems development where at least four were focused on technical delivery in one of the following domains: + Next generation flight systems + Space domain awareness missions + Space systems modeling and simulation for existing and emerging technologies + At least two years of experience in program development, including identifying, developing, and realizing new project opportunities. + Experience in modeling and simulation using one or more of the following tools/languages: MATLAB, Python, C++, Java. + Experience with DOD and IC Space Missions. + Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q and SCI clearance, or equivalent, which may require a polygraph test. The department’s focus is on developing state-of-the-art capabilities to enable Space Mission Engineering program execution and Sandia’s National Security missions. We maintain expertise in software/hardware architectures, algorithm development, software engineering, object-oriented software design, physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and astrodynamics that creates and delivers next generation software and hardware solutions to meet complex national security space missions.
