What Your Job Will Be Like: We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Technologist to join a team providing support for creative training and explosive testing to counter strategic threats. Join us and help develop modern solutions to enhance our nation's security! On any given day, you may be called on to: + Maintain chemical waste, hazardous waste, fleet inspections, maintenance, and disposition. + Maintain sites and facilities to enable a professional and safe atmosphere for the team and its customers. + Perform mechanical fabrication (i.e., welding, cutting, machining). + Operate heavy equipment (i.e., forklift, boom lift, skid-steer). + Potential travel opportunities. Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite. Qualifications We Require: High school diploma plus three (3) or more years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with the following: + Law enforcement and/or DOJ. + General mechanics, such as portable hand tool usage. + High-consequence field testing operations. + Forklift Certification Active DOE Q-level security clearance. About Our Team: The Energetic Threats and Training Department serves the nation's need for energetic threat assessments for WMD first responders. 6646 serves customers from DoD, DOJ, DHS, NNSA, and others by designing and developing inert improvised nuclear devices. Additionally, the department performs large scale threat with real world training venues and scenarios locally at Site 9940 as well as offsite.
