Business Development Associate

ROLE SUMMARY

Pfizer CentreOne (PC1) is a global contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) embedded within Pfizer generating $1B+ in revenue. We leverage strategic Pfizer manufacturing plants as well as science and technology resources to manufacture medicine for biopharmaceutical companies. We focus on custom API synthesis, sterile injectable fill-finish and highly potent oral solid dose; and are a leading supplier of steroid and hormone APIs and intermediates. For almost 50 years, we’ve manufactured complex compounds for our biopharmaceutical partners. Our dedicated team of contract manufacturing experts guide our partners’ drugs safely from development (phase 2 or later) through commercialization. PC1 reports into the Chief Business Innovation Office.

The Business Development Associate should possess strong business acumen and outstanding communications skills with an aptitude to develop in-depth expertise in virtual engagement settings, establish and build impactful relationships and exhibit strong promotional skills.  They must understand and follow the sales cycle, including developing target/prospecting plans, executing plans, and conducting post-interaction analyses using all available digital and virtual tools.  They must have the ability to work independently in virtual collaboration with cross-functional internal teams.  Where applicable, the Business Development Associate should coordinate insights, learnings, and customer approach with Business Development, Project Management, and Account Management colleagues.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive lead generation through targeting (prospecting) initiatives to identifying companies that may require PC1 services (cold calling, web searches, industry organizations, etc.)

  • Engage with customers virtually (email, phone, video meetings) to compliantly grow the business and drive awareness and demand for PC1’s service offerings

  • Meet target Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for touch points, first meetings and lead conversions

  • Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date records within PC1’s CRM (Salesforce)

  • Effectively build rapport with customers in fully virtual environment; develops a methodical approach toward calls (e.g., clear next steps and appropriate documentation, managing to KPIs); adapts approach based upon opportunities and insights

  • Understands and uses approved promotional materials to support marketing message

  • Uses approved Pfizer resources to support customers and works effectively across multiple virtual engagement platforms based on customer preferences/compliance guidelines

  • Integrates guidance and insights from management/other support roles/technical solutions (e.g., content marketing) into pre-call planning; able to effectively plan day-to-day work based on personal and customer schedules; collaborate effectively with other Customer-Facing (CF) colleagues

  • Builds and demonstrates a mastery and utilization of all virtual tools and resources; effectively use calendaring tools, leadership goals, and personal insights to address customer priorities on outbound calls effectively

  • Stays current with all required training, including Compliance, and routinely enhance skills through self-study, development programs, conferences and / or training classes at local and / or remote locations

REQUIRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATOINS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Goal-oriented individual with a strong desire to be in promotional role; have core skills of customer service orientation, initiative, planning and follow up, work management, and judgment/problem solving

  • Able to be on telephone or other virtual platforms for a full working day and speak clearly and effectively to all assigned customers

  • Demonstrated digital acumen and excellent written/verbal communication

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite and CRM (SalesForce) programs

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills are required and ability to analyze and draw relevant conclusions using available data and information

  • Demonstrates change agility; accountability; takes/seeks feedback; the ability to be connected to others; remote collaboration with cross-functional internal teams

  • Market place and business acumen, stakeholder management; and understanding the business priorities

  • The ability to develop strong professional relationships / networks in a dynamic and challenging environment

  • Exceptional time management skills; intrinsically productive and scheduled, even in the absence of direct management oversight

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous sales in pharmaceuticals/healthcare experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of sales operations including data/reports, call planning, and sales tactics preferred.
