Job Description
Two Postdoctoral Fellow positions are available in the Grabocka Laboratory in the Department of Pharmacology, Physiology and Cancer Biology at the NCI-designated Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Thomas Jefferson University. We are looking for candidates to join our exciting research program centered on understanding the biology behind how cellular stress and inflammation promote pancreatic cancer development and therapy resistance and how stress-adaptive organelles contribute to these processes. The postdoctoral fellows will take leads in elucidating: 1) the composition of stress granules and their functional relevance in cancer cells biology and tumor microenvironment, or 2) role of obesity and metabolic syndrome in pancreatic tumorigenesis. Our research ranges from fundamental molecular mechanisms and organelle biology to clinical applications utilizing high-resolution imaging, molecular and cellular biology, 3D cell culture, flow cytometry, omics studies, and mouse models. Candidates should have a recent PhD or MD/PhD degree in biochemistry, cell biology, cancer biology, cancer immunology, or a closely related field. Prior experiences with, proteomics, flow cytometry, and animal work are preferred. Successful candidates will join a highly motivated, engaging, and energetic research group and a diverse and supportive research community.
Interested applicants should submit a cover letter justifying their interest in the position, their previous experience, and a CV to Dr. Elda Grabocka at [email protected]. Please include the contact information for three references in the last page of the CV.
