Job Description

Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Korstanje lab

The Korstanje lab studies the genetics underlying several forms of kidney disease, in particular modifier genes that affect the progression of Alport Syndrome, Polycystic Kidney Disease, and Diabetic Kidney Disease. The lab is seeking a postdoc to study the role of several proteins and microRNAs, both in cell culture and in mouse models, that have recently been associated with the progression of Diabetic Kidney Disease.

Responsibilities:

  • Motivation and curiosity, and the desire to see things through are paramount.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment benefitting individual projects while supporting the overall goals of the lab.
  • Demonstrates the ability to plan, execute and analyze an independent research project.
  • The successful candidate will lead the studies in the lab with the help of lab- and animal- technicians.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Biological Sciences.
  • Experience in cell culture and working with mice.
