Job Description

The New England Centenarian Study is the largest longitudinal study of centenarians and their family members in the world. We began at Harvard and have been at BU since 2002. We have 4 NIH NIA (National Institute on Aging) grants funding our work. After enrolling participants, our research assistants perform deep phenotyping including detailed neuropsychological testing to help determine if the centenarian or their offspring have normal or even better than normal cognitive function helping to rule in or rule out Alzheimer's disease. We obtain grip strength and timed get up and go test. Participants wear an Actigraph watch for a week for both physical and sleep functions. Some participants also undergo MRI and post-mortem neuropathology. A blood sample is collected for multi-omics data generation and a stool sample is collected for microbiome data generation.

We are seeking a post doc associate with experience in accelerometry data management and analyses, particularly ActiGraph data. We are also seeking someone with experience and interest in neuropsychological testing, scoring of tests and analyses in the area of resilience against AD and other dementias. Experience recruiting/enrolling and special interest working with African American or LatinX individuals would be a big plus for us. This is a two year position that is a step above post-doc fellow with bi-monthly salary and benefits.
