As an Ultrasound Technologist in our Imaging Department, you will be responsible for performing ultrasound procedures to aid in accurately diagnosing disease or injury. In this role, your duties will include but are not limited to: 

Performing ultrasound examinations on patients in our facility or at bedside. 

Assisting our radiologists with invasive procedures. 

Utilizing your computer skills for generating reports, billing for procedures, and maintaining patient medical records.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs ultrasound examinations on patients in the ultrasound facility as prescribed by physician.
  • Knowledge of all transducers, soft keys, and cine' functions on unit.
  • Consistently performs highly skilled procedures and arterial and venous vascular procedures with excellent diagnostic results.
  • Produces permanent records of ultrasound examinations and prepares preliminary forms/worksheets. Presents ultrasound findings and related information to the reading radiologist.
  • Consistently utilizes computer skills in compliance with department policy for the purpose of generating a report, billing for procedures and maintaining patient medical records.
  • Performs duties of technologist in other modalities as qualified, if workload requires.
  • Complies with all Radiology Information Systems and PACS entry requirements for accurate patient, film, supply tracking monitors.
  • Completes mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements. Maintains applicable certification/licensure.
  • Assists and supports the Radiologic student program, specifically the clinical aspect. Provides supervision and feedback to students as they perform procedures. Reviews images with students on request and provides quarterly evaluations of students to clinical instructions for formal reviews.
  • Follows system and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety.
  • Other duties as assigned


Education:

Certifications:

  • Certified RDMS  (within 24 months to become registered).
  • Certified RVT Ultrasonographer (within 24 months to become registered).
  • Certified in abdomen, OB/GYN and vascular ultrasound.
  • Prefer ARRT certified.
  • Current license in State of Ohio if ARRT.
  • Maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) form AHA.


Complexity of Work:

  • Maintains competencies specific to patient population served.
  • Excellent background in anatomy, physiology and physics. Ability to travel site-to-site as required.


Work Experience:

  • Working knowledge of computers and applications.


Physical Requirements:

  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
