Registered Nurse – Outpatient Oncology Infusion Clinic

As the Registered Nurse working at City of Hope's Long Beach, Worsham Clinic you will provide care to our medical oncology patients. Your primary responsibility is to deliver comprehensive nursing care to the patients while assisting them through their treatment journey offering emotional support and education. The nurses at City of Hope play a vital role in improving the quality of life for cancer patients by providing expert care, support, and education throughout their cancer journey. While fostering excellence in patient care and adherence to City of Hope's high-quality standards. This position is ideal for someone with 1 year of experience working with oncology patients who are looking to transition to the outpatient setting.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Assessing patients’ health status
  • Developing and implementing care plans
  • Administering chemotherapy and other medications, monitoring patents’ vital signs and symptoms
  • Providing education and support to patients and their families and coordinating care and follow-up appointments. Help with managing side effects and complications from their cancer treatment. Involved in quality improvement initiatives, and patient education programs specific to cancer care.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Associate degree in nursing. Bachelor’s degree in nursing is highly preferred.
  • 0-3 years+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Must have a currently and valid California Registered Nurse license.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Must have a current and valid ONS chemotherapy/biotherapy certification.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a physician’s office or hospital.
  • One (1) year oncology and chemotherapy administration
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience. EPIC preferred.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $48.43 - $72.64 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
