Summary
Reporting to the Director of IT Systems and Services, the IT Change Manager Senior will be responsible for project and change management within the UMSI IT team. This includes implementing new processes/services and improving existing ones. The IT Change Manager Senior will guide the team through the implementation of new technologies and services offered by UMSI. The manager will use their project and change management skills to coordinate projects, create documentation, and prepare communication strategies essential for project success.

Candidates for this position are expected to be comfortable using multiple resources (such as documentation, subject matter experts, etc.) to understand the processes and services they are tasked to manage. You should also be able to function collaboratively with both technical and non-technical audiences, facilitate projects, and show creativity in your approach.

The new UMSI Computing Services unit is designed to provide rapid services and data to internal stakeholders at the University of Michigan. The unit is responsible for all non-hardware infrastructure, such as educational technologies and data flows between University systems, 3rd parties tools and collaboration with campus partners. Responsibilities*
Handle all phases of project management from initiation, implementation, and transition.
Develop detailed timelines and resource plans for new projects (e.g., recently acquired technologies), including defining requirements, identifying risks, creating documentation (team and user-facing), reporting status to team and stakeholders through various means, and tracking any issues that arise.
Conduct audience analysis, identify appropriate content delivery methods, create communication plans, and identify high-level learning points.
Create and coordinate reviews of communications, training, documentation, and other deliverables related to projects and services.
Develop and implement strategies to drive product adoption and maximize user engagement.
Required Qualifications*
Master's Degree in a related field such as Business, Computer Science or 5 to 9 years of IT Project management experience.
Demonstrable skills/knowledge in:
Project management methodologies
Change management practices, principles, and standards
Documentation and training
Communication of a wide range of technical and non-technical topics to a diverse set of stakeholders
Using Jira and Agile methodologies to run projects.
Creating project and product roadmaps.
