Registered Nurse - ER Manager

Serves as a member of the patient care leadership team that is responsible to inspire and guide clinical stakeholders. Manages the day-to-day clinical operations on each shift across the care continuum with regard to patient care management, resource management and clinical outcomes. Responsible for a set group of stakeholders to oversee direct care, mentor, and guide stakeholders for achievement of excellence.

The successful candidate:

  • Promotes exceptional teamwork, by working across departmental lines to serve our patients and guests, and by working tirelessly to maintain quality working relationships with other leaders, coworkers, various departments and with the Medical Staff. This includes participation on various committees that impacts quality, patient satisfaction & stakeholder satisfaction/retention.
  • Assesses patient care delivery needs for patient population for all age groups. Advocates for a culture of safety through knowledge, problem solving, and process. Advocates for patients’ rights by utilizing established mechanisms for management of ethical issues.
  • Effectively handles supervision of direct reports including documentation of personnel records in a timely manner. Effectively handles employee grievances and complaints in accordance with hospital and corporate standards. Responsible for performance improvement as it relates to nursing and takes prompt measure to prevent and address performance and behavior problems.
  • Demonstrates appropriate delegation of responsibility for patient care, committee assignments, special projects, and other unit activities.
  • Provides front line leadership and direction through creative approaches to complex problems consistent with the best patient care and evidence-based practice. Interprets procedures, ensures daily operations are maintained, and prioritizes the work of others while providing staff direction and clinical expertise.
  • Assures unit compliance with organizational standards and outside regulatory requirements throughout chart review, environment rounds, direct observations, etc.
  • Adheres to policy and effectively communicates changes in policy/procedure and clinical practice guidelines to his/her team to ensure safe & high-quality patient care at the bedside.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

3 years of ER/Urgent Care experience

Bachelor's degree in nursing BSN

Current IL RN License

Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, (ACLS)through American Heart Association

Preferred - American Heart Association (AHA) Instructor for BLS and ACLS, OCN or CCRN National Certification

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $42.24 - $69.54 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
