ROLE SUMMARY

The Strategic Insights Lead role is responsible for the Analytics & Insights capabilities supporting the PGS Directs Sourcing and R&D Sourcing teams.

They are responsible for providing leadership, knowledge and capabilities to enable the Analytics & Insights team (PGS Directs and R&D) to successfully operate.

They will have ownership for both Direct and Indirect category related requests and will work with the other Analytics and Insights Lead (Commercial & Enterprise) to develop analytics leading practices and insights.

They will ensure stakeholders’ analytics needs are met and lead the generation of sourcing insights to inform category strategies to deliver exceptional value for Source to Pay and our business partners.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Analytics & Category Insight Generation

  • Manage the activities for analytics, insights and metrics reporting support for the PGS Directs and R&D Sourcing teams (e.g., spend reporting, savings, working capital, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Category Leads to best provide category management support and sourcing insights
  • Review and leverage sourcing insights provided by team to determine best course of action for sourcing and category opportunities
  • Implement data-driven strategies that align with business goals and priorities
  • Provide guidance on creation of reports and dashboards to be built to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and the performance of the sourcing function that highlight potential areas of improvement and success
  • Provide SME inputs and oversee development of analytics insights to respective stakeholders, using data visualization tools and storytelling techniques
  • Manage activities related to external benchmarking and industry research exercises to identify best practices and emerging trends in sourcing analytics
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management
  • Identify process improvements and ensure optimal ways of working

Data Management, Quality, & Tooling

  • Support with managing centralized S2P spend data infrastructure
  • Apply knowledge of common methodologies, tools, and templates on spend analytics (category profiles, analysis models, etc.)
  • Manage development of methodologies and processes for common reporting needs, project portfolio monitoring, and spend infrastructure management
  • Execute inputs received on developing and implementing data governance policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of sourcing data
  • Maintain and monitor data governance frameworks and data quality standards for sourcing data, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across multiple systems and sources

People Management & Development

  • Manage and lead the Analytics & Insights team responsible for the PGS Directs Sourcing and R&D Sourcing organizations in a strategic and goal-oriented manner
  • People management responsibilities with an overall team size of 4+
  • Conduct performance evaluations and appraisals in a consistent, fair, ethical and objective manner to encourage continuous performance improvement
  • Create a professional and effective work environment by developing and communicating a common vision, setting clear work objectives and expectations, displaying empathy, fostering teamwork, recognizing and rewarding performance

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Business, Computer Science, Operations & Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline
  • 4+ years of experience overseeing and using SQL queries (e.g. MySQL/BigQuery), Spreadsheet Software (e.g., Excel, macros, Alteryx), and Visualization Tools (e.g.,Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, QlikView, QuickSight), Databases
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools
  • Experience working with data, and a strong understanding of procurement and supply chain management
  • Experience in project management and/or tech product management
  • Experience in maintaining and monitoring data governance frameworks and data quality standards for sourcing data
  • Ability to produce high-quality, timely outcomes
  • Flexible to changing priorities and comfortable in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • English language fluency

Experience

  • Typical Years of Experience: 5+ years of experience in data science & data analytics (3+ yrs for MBA/MS)
  • Experience working with diverse, cross-functional teams
  • Experience with developing reports to drive data-driven decisions and influence stakeholders
  • Experience of developing financial reports
  • Experience of implementing data governance policies and procedures

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of analytics and data science to manage spend analytics solution and deliver insights
  • Knowledge of common sourcing analysis methodologies (TCO models, PPV analysis, cost modeling, regression and other statistical analysis)
  • Knowledge of methodologies, tools, and templates on spend analytics
  • Understanding of category-specific considerations to help shape analytics & data-driven decision making

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or Master’s degree in data science, strategy, management, or related field is a plus
  • Experience and proficiency with Sievo Procurement Analytics Software
  • Experience with Beroe Procurement Market Intelligence
  • 4+ yrs of experience implementing software solutions to automate data source, visualization and/or data modeling application
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience building end to end solutions to performance measurement and process improvement

Work Location Assignment: Flexible

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $89,900.00 to $149,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 15.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
