As a Shift leader, you will be required to:

  • Proactively address safety hazards, quality & compliance issues.
  • Meet compliance targets and agreed commitments.
  • Meet production targets and agreed commitments.
  • Ensure clear communication and handover between shifts using T0 IMEx Tool
  • Maintain schedule adherence
  • Reduce manufacturing lost time and Improve performance and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with all government and company regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively manage staff and create a positive work environment.
  • Provide Technical development and opportunities for your Team
  • Ensure improvements are captured in shutdown plan

Thanks to your technical skills, you will coach your direct reports on day to day activities. You will be relied on to solve complex problems within your area of expertise.

Your strong communication skills will come in play when you convey supervisors' instructions and production schedules in accomplishing a variety of tasks, such as meeting quality, accountability, security, productivity and safety requirements. You will ensure that all activities are completed based on Standard Operating Procedures, batch records, Current Good Manufacturing Practices and plant procedures. You will need to monitor down time of production line and contribute to Improvement opportunities.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Lead effective resourcing to meet short and long term needs of the site. This includes task assignment, casual labor, overtime and recruitment as required.
  • Set target conditions, and drive the delivery of these, to achieve improvements in performance to meet growing business needs.
  • Lead performance management process (Tier 0&1) within  IMEx  Ecosystems of responsibility, ensuring accurate and timely data is used.
  • Identify issues in real-time and lead problem solving with your team to create sustainable resolutions. Use and champion the IMEX problem solving process line-side, with staff and necessary Support Functions.
  • Create and confirm standards (against the 4M’s, Material, Manpower, Method and Measurement) required managing safety, quality, compliance and output. This includes being well prepared to have a good shift handover process and shift report.
  • Ensure adoption and adherence to the Leader Standard Work, and the application of Standard Work for roles within the value stream by staff.
  • Align to the Leader Standard Work maturity map.
  • Be highly visible during the shift so as to support your team when there is more risk for issues (e.g. line changeovers, line clearances, trials, validation, updated procedures, return to work). Provide guidance and resolve problems as they arise.
  • Ensure alignment to and provide data for the tiered accountability meetings within the value stream and on site. Follow through on resulting actions in a timely fashion.
  • Engage actively in governance/verification activities for the respective value stream e.g. Level 1 Audits, Risk Assessments, safety meetings, quality improvement forums.
  • Mange the timely completion of maintenance activities within the PCT to ensure continuous and uninterrupted performance of the area of responsibility.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum

  • Experience working within regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • General leadership, particularly influencing, coaching and driving performance through others.
  • Tertiary qualified in engineering or science-related discipline (or equivalent), such as Chemical Engineering. Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmacy or Materials Science.
  • Solid working knowledge of GMP.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment and strong technical writing skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in pharmaceutical (or FMCG) organization (+5 years).
  • Demonstrated delivery of improvement initiatives, resulting in financial and non-financial benefits (e.g. MUV, Yield, Overtime, OEE etc.).
  • Experience running an operation with Lean /Six sigma principles.
  • Able to multi-task several priorities
  • Able to source and use data for makingeffective decisions.
  • Able to operate, obtain and maintain aseptic gowning qualifications.
