Job Description

Summary

Advanced Practitioner (NP) within an outpatient care setting at the BSLMG Woodlands Cancer Center location. Support the healthcare system with the management of specified populations though independent and collaborative clinical management.

Job Purpose

Provides advanced nursing care to patients in a clinical setting in an area of specialization under the direction of a physician.

Job Duties

  • Synthesizes and critically analyzes data to identify needs, formulate diagnosis, and establish a treatment plan for a patient, family, and/or population.
  • Implements individualized, evidence-based interventions based on assessment, treatment plan, and identified prioritizes to maximize health potential and/or expected goals of a patient, family, and/or population.
  • Evaluates progress toward expected goals of a patient, family, and/or population in a systematic and ongoing manner with modification to the plan as appropriate.
  • Serves as a clinical expert to the interdisciplinary team.
  • Incorporates and disseminates research findings and evidence-based practice into treatment plans, protocols, and guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education Required: Master’s degree in in Nursing.
  • Experience Required:2 to 5 years of medical experience.
  • Certification/Licenses/Registration: Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the State of Texas Board of Nursing. Current Texas Licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN-NP), and specialty certification as required by department. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Able to facilitate change.
