Summary

The Research Administration Associate provides support for the Baylor St Luke's Medical Center Research Office. The role is a key point of contact for all research conducted BSLMC from the approval and subsequent subject enrollment process. It requires basic knowledge of clinical research, hospital policy and overall ability to be organized and detail oriented. Communication skills are critical, both written and verbal.This department currently has two Research Administration Associates that together handle 100-150 clinical research applications per year.

This position is eligible for a future hybrid work schedule.

Employees with Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certification are eligible for certification pay.

Job Duties

  • Serve as the point of contact forthe approval of all Clinical Research activity at BSLMC. This includes reviewing initial applications for completeness and verifying that the correct service areas are identified. Responsible for seeking hospital department approvals, verifying IRB approval, among other requirements and works closely with study teams and hospital departments.
  • Manage flagging research patients and activity in Epic.
  • Serve as main point of contact for notification of study activity and requires knowledge and ability to effectively navigate BSLMC Electronic Medical Record.
  • Compilemonthly billing compliance reports, based on Epic and billing activity, to BCM and BSLMC leadership.
  • Participatein other research related activity in BSLMC. This includes facilitating the credentialing process at BSLMC for research, updating reports, reviewing policies and procedures.
  • Answerthe clinical research phone line.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. Certified Research Administrator certification through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a clinical research coordinator.
  • Knowledge of EMR systems and CTMS.
  • Must bewell organized and be able to follow up with minimal prompting.
  • Must be able to determine priorities and multitask as several projects will be in play at any given time.
  • Attention to detail is key.
  • Customer service is also important as we serve the entire research community at BSLMC.
