The Health Information Representative plays a key role in the daily functions of Health Information Management, ensuring accessibility, accountability, and accuracy.

Responsibilities include the Release of Information, Scanning/Outside Imaging, and Medical Record Analysis and the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments, physicians, and ancillary staff is essential. Strong organizational abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and critical thinking are crucial for maintaining the integrity of the medical record.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate degree in Health Information Management with successful I completion of the Accreditation Exam preferred

  • Active membership in AHIMA or equivalent with experience in Health Information Management preferred

  • Requires 2-3 years of professional experience with medical records and familiarity in working with diverse facets of Health Information Management.

  • Familiar with federal and state laws and regulations concerning medical records, including HIPAA and TJC standards.

  • Ability to work effectively with other departments, physicians and all ancillary staff.

  • Ability to utilize computer systems-MS Office with emphasis on Excel, OnBase, Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM) or similar EMR

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $17.51 - $24.87 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
