Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:
An Adjunct Assistant Scientist in Quantum Chemistry position is available for the Division of Physical Chemistry to work on a project on computations and method development for vibronically coupled molecules and its application to problems in molecular spectroscopy led by Dr. John F. Stanton in the Department of Chemistry at University of Florida beginning in Fall 2024. We have a position available in our group to work on (1) Ab-initio calculation and characterization of vibronic and rovibronic spectroscopic parameters, (2) Simulation and prediction of spectra for Jahn-Teller active molecules (3) Quasidiabatic approaches in coupled-cluster theory (4) Algorithm development for vibronic and spin-vibronic problems. We are looking for individuals familiar with analytical as well as numerical experience in these (or closely related) topics and willing to establish a dialog with others already involved in ongoing experimental and theoretical work. The position will be housed within the Division of Physical Chemistry, and the Adjunct Assistant Scientist will be embedded in the multidisciplinary team studying quantum chemistry and its application to problems in molecular spectroscopy, thermochemistry, and chemical kinetics.
