This is a hybrid position with some days onsite and some remote.

The primary role of the DPS Clinical Research Administrator is to support research initiatives aimed at enhancing cancer care delivery. As part of a dynamic research team, the DPS Clinical Research Administrator will contribute to the development and implementation of innovative interventions designed to improve both the process and outcomes of cancer care for at-risk individuals, cancer patients, their families, and healthcare providers.

We welcome candidates with a strong interest in cancer care delivery, translational genomics, health equity, health communication, and improving access to care through health-related technology.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Assist the Division Chair and research personnel in managing the operational and technical aspects of multiple studies within the Genomics, Outcomes Research, Etiology, and Behavioral Oncology programs.
  • Manage personnel issues, including staff supervision and training, recruitment of new staff, assisting with the hiring process, completing performance evaluations, counseling, directing staff, and resolving workflow issues.
  • Assist Principal Investigators with IRB tracking, submission, and correspondence. Ensure all regulatory documents and submissions are up to date, maintaining compliance with City of Hope IRB protocols and other regulatory agencies.
  • Review protocols for data management requirements and assign workloads accordingly.
  • Work with the Division Administrator on business-related and fiscal activities, including budget preparation, monitoring, purchasing, personnel, and time/attendance management.
  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of Clinical Research Coordinators and Assistants, conducting performance reviews and gathering feedback from relevant Project Managers, staff members, and Department/Division leads.
  • Participate in the training and quality control monitoring of Population Sciences Clinical Research Coordinators and Assistants (PSCRCs/PSCRAs) to ensure proper database management, promoting accuracy, efficiency, and uniformity.
  • Assist the Division Chair, Principal Investigators, and Co-Investigators in preparing grant proposals, manuscripts, abstracts, and research reports.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Division Chair, the City of Hope research team, and investigators at outside institutions. Consult with funding agencies, research collaborators, and participating institutions as necessary, ensuring timely submission of data from external centers according to protocol requirements.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in an academic or research environment.
  • Supervisory experience required.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Biological Sciences, Public Health, or related field.
  • SOCRA certification.
  • Experience with medical records, health information systems, clinical trials and public health (epidemiology).

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $42.36 - $70.74 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
