Job Description

The Department of Psychological Science at Ball State University seeks a tenure-track assistant professor to begin August 15, 2025. The successful applicant will be interested in teaching courses for our undergraduate psychological science major, neuroscience minor, master’s programs in clinical psychology and psychological science; have a research program that will complement current research interests in the department and that can involve both undergraduate and graduate students; and contribute to the service activities of the department and discipline. While applicants from any area of psychology or related fields are welcome to apply, special consideration will be given to applicants who conduct research and teach in the areas of neuroscience (e.g., neuropsychology, cognitive neuroscience), clinical or counseling psychology with a forensic focus, and/or social psychology with a diversity focus.
Our department includes twenty-two full-time faculty members who deliver excellent teaching, conduct high-quality research, and foster student-faculty mentorships. Support for this work is offered through research resources (e.g., EEG labs, funding opportunities; external grant supporting office); professional development opportunities (e.g., teaching training) and faculty mentorship.

Minimum Experience:

Ph.D. in psychology or related field from an accredited institution. ABDs will be considered if the doctorate is obtained by date of appointment. Clinical and Counseling PhDs must be from APA or CPA accredited programs.
