Posting TextThe Department of Nursing at USD invites applications for a 9 months full-time clinical faculty position at the Vermillion campus. Salary and rank will be based on experience and credentials.
This faculty position will be responsible for instruction in the simulation, lab and seminar settings for pre-licensure students. Responsibilities include oversight of the daily operations of the lab and simulation setting, provide teaching and evaluation of students’ clinical reasoning and clinical performance in the lab and simulation setting, facilitate pre-briefing and post-briefing in simulation, provide teaching and oversight in seminar and implementation of patient simulations. There may be occasions of direct patient care oversight. Travel between Sioux Falls and Vermillion campus may be expected.
Required Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a current unencumbered license, eligible for licensure in South Dakota, and hold a master’s degree in nursing from a nationally accredited program. Recent clinical experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have current nursing experience in medical surgical nursing and experience with simulation and lab instruction. Experience teaching in a baccalaureate program or higher education also preferred. The candidate should have the ability to incorporate technology into teaching and learning, an ability to work well within a team, and exceptional written and verbal skills.
