Job Description

Argonne National Laboratory is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting/Financial Assistant to join our Financial Management Procurement Service Division. In this role, you will join a team of ten who support the accuracy and efficiency of our accounts payable, including expense reporting, ensuring compliance with established accounting standards and timelines.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and processing invoice payments, employee reimbursements, and other financial transactions.

  • Assisting accountants with data analysis, reporting, and special financial projects.

  • Responding to accounting inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.

  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely submission of required accounting data.

Position Requirements

  • Experience in accounts payable efforts.

  • Accounting systems software experience, including Concur Expense Management and Workday Financials .

  • Professional oral and written communication skills.

  • Organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality financial support.

  • Associate’s degree in accounting preferred.

The selected candidate will be placed at the appropriate level (SA3 or SA4) dependent upon depth and breadth of relevant knowledge and skills brought to the position, as well as the amount of relevant experience. The requirements of the various levels are as follows:

  • SA3 Level: Highschool and 8+ years of experience or equivalent

  • SA4 Level: Highschool and 10+ years of experience or equivalent
