The University of Idaho is seeking a Technical Product Manager for Enterprise Applications to support the product portfolio for our Ellucian ERP system and related services. In this role you will champion new features, collaborate on cross functional initiatives, and support ongoing operations. This position is part of a team essential in fulfilling the mission and supporting the community of the University of Idaho.
Position Overview
This position contributes to the planning, design, and development of enterprise applications. This position is responsible for the success of a product or family of products. This position will work closely with cross-functional business leaders, peers, and technology leadership to ensure systems are positioned for the growth of the University. This includes performing or supervising analysis, design, development, and testing, to ensure the deployment of reliable, secure, and scalable business-critical applications and platforms. They will work in a collaborative environment with business and technology owners and fosters a culture of teamwork and support across the University and within the technology team.

This position is a blend of product, project and personnel leadership and will require partnering with cross functional teams to achieve high performance levels with application services and support the alignment of team activities with the university’s business needs.

Duties may include:
Understanding and representing user needs
Defining a vision and roadmap for a product
Aligning stakeholders around the vision for the product
Prioritizing product features and capabilities
Managing a product backlog
Overseeing development stages and evaluate progress
Serving as a liaison between stakeholders and development
Collaborating across teams to empower independent decision-making
Administering applications
Providing high level reporting to departments across the university
Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications
Required Experience
Three years of experience working with software applications in a technical or functional support role
Prioritizing work and ensuring projects and workloads are completed on time

Required Education
High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Other
None
Additional Preferred
Five or more years of experience working with software applications in a technical or functional leadership role
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management of Information Systems, Information Technology or related field
Agile Certification (e.g., Product Owner, Scrum Master or similar)
ITIL Certification
Experience with:
Ellucian Banner ERP, Ethos, Ellucian Experience, and other Ellucian applications and tools
Understanding the end-to-end user experience including integrations and dependencies
Translating strategy into roadmaps and implementation plans
Writing requirements or user stories
Enterprise reporting tools such as Argos, Cognos, or Power BI
Working with Higher Education technology
Modern API development with web services and ERP integration design patterns
Agile methodologies
Project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, TeamDynamix
Source Code Control / Versioning tools (e.g., Git)
Unit-test frameworks, testing automation and CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Selenium, JUnit, GitLab CI/CD)
