What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a Microelectronics Equipment Maintenance Technologist with prior experience supporting semiconductor manufacturing tools and equipment specifically in Thin Film deposition or Dry Etch technologies. This job involves the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of complex electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacture of semiconductor devices. This position is supporting CVD, PVD and Dry Etch tools used to deposit and etch doped and undoped materials on silicon wafer substrates using vacuum, high temperature and high purity gasses.

This role will include owning system calibrations, wafer handling, gas and vapor delivery, abatement systems, vacuum pumps, RF and DC power, electro-mechanical systems, vacuum systems, facilities subsystem maintenance.

The role also involves continuous improvement of safety systems and quality systems and the development of engineered solutions to improve the safety and reliability of the Thin Films area equipment. You will need strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to take ownership of and resolve technical issues independently.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Plan and perform maintenance duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, or optical areas.
  • Construct, calibrate, adjust, test and maintain equipment, components, devices or systems.
  • Develop, evaluate and work from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
  • Operate related equipment, conduct tests and report data in a prescribed format.
  • Specify and perform calibration and alignment checks; design and make modifications and replacements as needed; coordinate work with facilities and trades as needed.
  • Analyze data and recommend modifications to components or test procedures to meet desired specifications.
  • Coordinate equipment support contracts and the work of vendor equipment support personnel and maintain spare parts inventory.

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Salary Range:

$70,200 - $135,400

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require:

  • Associates degree in a technical field plus five (5) years directly related experience
  • or equivalent experience (9 years' experience)
  • Skills and abilities with hands-on work activities – using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, meters etc.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a DOE L clearance

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Ten (10) or more years supporting Applied Materials, ASM, LAM, Toyko Electron or equivalent CVD, PVD or Dry Etch semiconductor manufacturing equipment
  • Project manage and collaborate with internal and external customers and vendors
  • Familiarity with all safety requirements relevant to semiconductor equipment work (e.g., lock out tag out, pressure and electrical safety, chemical safety)
  • Strong oral, written, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, including the ability to collaborate well in a diverse team environment and develop positive relationships

About Our Team:

Our department develops and maintains core semiconductor processing capabilities and capacity that enable our customers to build differentiating Microsystems products. We support the operations of the 11,900 square foot Class 1 Silicon Fab for 6-inch silicon wafer processing. The Silicon Fab has processing expertise in both CMOS and MEMS technologies. Over 150 equipment sets are maintained, supported and operated 24 hours per day, 5 days a week (3 shifts). Both processing and maintenance expertise are staffed on all 3 shifts. We offer unique prototyping capabilities. We are capable of producing full flow production lots with quick turnaround time as well as performing flexible process development.
