Job Description

Summary

The Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas is seeking a full time Physical Therapist for the Balance Center. The ideal candidate should have experience in the evaluation and treatment of Balance and Vestibular System Disorders. Ability to independently provide physical therapy is preferred. The successful candidate will work within a growing multidisciplinary team of otologists, head and neck surgeons, and Audiologists. Goals of the Vestibular rehab therapy are to improve quality of life, reduce functional disabilities, and control symptoms.

Job Duties

  • Evaluates and treats outpatient, adults patients with Vestibular disorders.
  • Specializes in care for certain complex patient types, through advanced training and education.
  • Schedules appointments, discusses patient progress, and/or status with physicians and other professionals.
  • Provides patient/family education.
  • Monitors patient needs.
  • Documents patient progress, daily treatment, and evaluation results in medical records.
  • Delivers exceptional patient care with adherence to safety standards and guidelines to ensure optimal patient safety, customer service, and optimum patient outcomes.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Four years of relevant experience.
  • Licensed Physical Therapist by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners or eligible to practice physical therapy in the State of Texas.
  • Certification in area of specialty.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in related field.
