Job Description
Summary
Seeking self-motivated technician to work in a developmental glial biology lab of Dr. Hyun Kyoung Lee, Principal Investigator at the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute at Texas Children’s Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, US HK Lee laboratory will focus on the identification of novel molecular signaling pathways and regulation in glial cell development. Based on these developmental studies, the lab will translate developmentally derived findings to associated disorders in an effort to develop therapeutic interventions. To achieve this goal, the lab will be utilizing molecular and cellular approaches in conjunction with classic genetic manipulation in both chick and mouse models and an array of CNS and PNS injury models; which ultimately will be applied to human neurological disorders.
Job Duties
- Maintains and assists in breedingmouse colony.
- Performs mouse behavior assays.
- Conducts routine laboratory experiments (DNA, RNA, Protein preps).
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Two years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a basic science or equivalent education and work experience.
