Bert Storey Research Building provides quality research space to promote multidisciplinary collaborations and translational research, which is essential to creating an environment that promotes innovation. Our research approach supports important National Cancer Institute goals including ensuring every cancer patient has access to the newest and most innovative clinical trials in the nation, clinicians and researchers work together to initiate new research protocols based on the clinician's interaction with the patient, and each cancer patient receives personalized treatment through the interaction of the multidisciplinary team of clinicians and allied health professionals.
Job Summary
The Nurse Educator position will provide care coordination between patient and provider, health education, and monitoring of maternal chronic conditions. This person will assist with project planning, implementation, and documentation within the contract/grant and institutional guidelines. The position will require an RN; experience with women's health, diabetes, and/or cardiology are preferred; this is a grant funded position from the Georgia Department of Public Health.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to: Coordinate care delivery with providers and patients; Ensure that scheduled project visits are confirmed; Follow-up with community members and participants; Assist project coordinator with data collection, entry, and quality control; Maintain project files according to project policies; Lead education sessions with mothers; Maintain outstanding relationships with community partners; Attend meetings with community partners. Attending staff training and research meetings. Participating in project planning and development of research protocols while insuring adherence to accepted scientific research principals. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, a valid Georgia Registered nursing License, with a minimum of three years total experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality; Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Pay Band: B12
Salary: $62,300
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
