The Department of Biological Sciences is looking to hire a full-time laboratory technician to assist in its undergraduate instructional programs.

Essential Functions
This position will be assisting daily functions of the Anatomy and Physiology laboratories. The technician will be responsible for preparing materials needed for instruction in different laboratory sections, experiment setup, maintaining the animal room and lab rooms, oversight of computers / instructional software, and participation in general laboratory functions. This position involves work with live and preserved animals.

The position will involve providing instructions in an educational setting for anatomy and physiology labs and the technician will be required to work with a team of graduate and undergraduate assistants assigned to the laboratories.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Level I: High School Diploma with no years of experience.

Level II: High School Diplomas with 1 year of experience.

Level III: High School Diploma with four years of experience.

When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement at a rate of one-year relevant education per year of required experience.
Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications
Minimum Skills and Abilities
The technician must be familiar with, or willing to learn surgical techniques on frogs. This job requires a person that can provide a high degree of accuracy, reliability, organization, effective communication, experience with computers / software, and ability to manage others. The employee must provide the highest standard of laboratory practices, safety, and professional interactions.
