Job Summary
The Application Administrator will implement, manage, and integrate applications on the libraries’ servers, and collects and preserves data generated by library applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Installs, configures, maintains, and migrates applications in virtual environments. Develops and maintains application integrations through API utilization and custom programming.
Creates and tests scripts, programs, and/or web services to facilitate data migrations and ingest data across diverse systems.
Stores and safeguards application-generated data. Presents data and provides analysis to the Libraries’ Administration.
Investigates existing open-source applications upon expressed need of colleagues throughout the Libraries. Collaborates with LST staff to determine the feasibility of such applications and to develop implementation plans.
Develops and maintains documentation for specialized procedures, applications, and systems configurations. Ensures adherence with departmental and university policies.
Actively participates in Library Systems & Technology department activities, including organization, management, task assignment, and strategic planning to enhance the department’s effectiveness.
Conducts self-guided study of current and emerging technologies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree in computer science, information science, or a related field with Four (4) years of experience administering applications in a Linux environment.
Proficiency in developing application integrations through the utilization of APIs.
Knowledge of PHP, Perl, Python, SQL, JSON.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information science, or a related field.
Knowledge of application implementation and administration practices.
Experience working in Amazon Web Services and Azure virtual environments.
Experience with ExLibris library enterprise systems and other library applications.
Experience with authentication protocols and SSO technologies.
Knowledge of data structures, including XML and JSON.
Advanced experience using APIs and creating custom scripts to ingest and migrate data.
Demonstrated aptitude for systems analysis and project management.
Experience working in an academic environment.

Working Conditions
This position may include non-traditional work hours such as nights, weekends, and holidays depending on the needs of the university community. Flexibility is required to ensure the department is appropriately staffed to satisfy all service needs.
