We are seeking a recent graduate (within the past two years) to join our team as an AI Innovation Fellow. Davidson is entering the second year of a campus-wide AI initiative to encourage and support appropriate uses of generative AI capabilities through platforms like ChatGPT and Claude. While they will work primarily with faculty, this unique position will educate and collaborate with constituents across the entire campus community to develop and integrate AI solutions for teaching, research, and administrative tasks across various disciplines. The AI Innovation Fellow will be an ambassador, crucial in demystifying AI technologies and fostering Davidson faculty’s critical engagement with AI for pedagogy and research. This position will be an integral component in the collaboration between teams from Davidson’s Technology & Innovation (T&I), the Davidson College Library, and the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL), who are partnering to bring AI Innovation to the College community. The incumbent will be a proactive communicator, collaborating and consulting with faculty across the college, T&I staff, students, and others using AI in their work.

Responsibilities

Educational Outreach: Conduct one-on-one training sessions, facilitate group workshops, and create asynchronous learning resources that encourage critical engagement with AI concepts, tools, and applications.
AI Solution Development: Collaborate with faculty, library, and T&I staff to design and implement AI-driven projects and solutions tailored to academic needs. As examples, current and future projects include supporting use and adoption of the Amplify GenAI platform and contributing to the development of a central learning hub for initiative-related materials.
Ambassadorship: Regularly discuss AI topics and propose new approaches and use cases to build awareness and understanding among the campus community.
Feedback and Adaptation: Gather feedback on the use of AI in academic settings and adapt strategies to increase effectiveness and acceptance.
Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest AI trends and technologies that can benefit the college.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or another field with relevant coursework or experience; the degree must have been obtained within the last two years. Preference for recent Davidson graduates, but all qualified candidates will be considered.
