Job Description

Job Overview
The Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering (MME) in the College of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Cincinnati invites candidates to apply for the position of Senior Lab Associate. The Senior Lab Associate is expected to support academic laboratories in the Mechanical Engineering Program under the direct supervision of the MME Department Head, primarily in the area of electronics and electronic equipment repair.

Essential Functions
Support the operation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment and instrumentation.
Order parts/consumables and maintain inventory for laboratories.
Support faculty in the development of academic lab experiments, primarily electronic and instrumentation.
Provide technical support for academic or research projects as directed by the Department Head.
Attend assigned compliance training as communicated by the representatives of the University, the College of Engineering and Applied Science, or the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering.
Assist with laboratory instrumentation and equipment setup, safety orientation, and documentation.
Required Education
Associate’s Degree
Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience
Two (2) years of experience in an area of technical specialty.

Additional Qualifications Considered
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

• Knowledge of current laboratory safety and OSHA standards.

• A working knowledge of basic engineering data acquisition software packages
