Temporary Research Technician I - Pezza Lab

Department: Cell Cycle & Cancer Biology
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Position Overview and Responsibilities
The Pezza Lab is seeking a Research Technician (temporary) to join the team. This role involves performing routine laboratory procedures according to standardized protocols and accurately reporting results. The Research Technician will receive general instructions for routine tasks, detailed guidance for new assignments, and regular supervision. With appropriate training and time in the position, the technician will support the lab's goals and contribute to ongoing research activities. Some responsibilities include:
  • Perform routine laboratory procedures following established protocols
  • Accurately record, analyze, and report experimental results
  • Follow general instructions for routine work and detailed instructions for new assignments
  • Work under regular supervision to ensure quality and compliance
  • Support the research team in achieving laboratory and project goals
  • Learn and apply new techniques and procedures as training is completed

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree, typically in one of the biological sciences, and/or equivalent years of relevant laboratory experience
  • Basic knowledge of routine technical and functional laboratory procedures
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with internet software, order processing systems, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out one- or two-step instructions
  • Ability to organize work and perform tasks with precision and accuracy, particularly when handling samples and chemicals

Work Hours
  • Typically, Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 5:00PM. From January 25, 2026 - July 25, 2026
