Summary

The CTSU Oncology department within the Dan L. Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center (DLDCCC) has an immediate opening for a Senior Research Coordinator. This position provides day-to-day activities of clinical trials. Many of these duties will include monitoring of research participants, enrollment, and screening. Responsibilities require flexibility and detail oriented individual to work closely with other research staff.

Job Duties

Generic Duty - Coordinates day to day activities of research protocols which include screening, enrollment, and monitoring of research participants. Ensures accurate data collection, documentation, organization and safety of research participants.

  • Coordinates and independently manages the day-to-day activities of oncology clinical research protocols, including screening, enrollment, treatment, follow-up, and monitoring of research participants.
  • Ensures accurate and timely data collection, documentation, organization, and maintenance of study records while prioritizing participant safety and protocol compliance.
  • Performs clinical research procedures, including blood draws (if applicable), vital signs, EKGs, specimen collection, processing, and shipping.
  • Identifies, documents, and reports adverse events (AEs) and serious adverse events (SAEs) in accordance with protocol and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducts comprehensive assessments of adverse events in collaboration with the participant's physician and other care team members; documents and grades adverse events in accordance with standardized NCI guidelines.
  • Plans, coordinates, and schedules study visits and ensures protocol-required procedures and assessments are completed within established timelines.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for clinical trial participants.
  • Mentors junior research coordinators and provides training and guidance to new research personnel regarding clinical research processes, protocols, and institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Five years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Oncology experience.
  • Fluent in Spanish.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in using spreadsheets, databases, and data management systems.
  • Ability to understand and follow clinical research protocols and patient study requirements.

Work Authorization Requirement:
